  Kevin,

The scripting tools are exclusively found in the simulator on the
Macintosh, and cannot be accessed on any device. The Tinker tool is
similarly unavailable, although the code for that still exists in the
device, and its just the actual object/interface that is missing. This
was removed because of the irreversable situations a user can encounter
when using the tinker tool on various things.

  Ronn,

There is a database-like program out there, called Freestyle. It
allows you to construct fields on a page as a form, and then fill the
form out to generate a database of information. Its quite customizable,
as you can cross-connect information objects, do various calculations
automatically, etc. The program is from Software Partners, and can be
ordered directly from them at (415) 428-0160 ext. 200 I believe.

Unfortunately at this time Presto!Links will not work with AOL because
of the lack of direct PPP support from AOL themselves. They have a
special gateway for desktop users that enables only after the
full-fledged client has logged in. With AOL changing so swiftly in the
recent past and present, its hard to say what'll happen in the future
though.

Presto!Links does support the .JPG graphic format natively; if you
come across one on a page, just tap its 'Show Image' icon, and it should
load fine. In fact, I think JPEGs actually load faster and require less
RAM because they do not need to be converted on the device-side (hence
the rules for enabling extra-RAM usage for GIF conversion).

HTH!

Hi Ronn
I don't think you can turn it down, but you can turn it off. Option tap the
magic lamp, tap the control panel, tap dialing and uncheck service dialing
audible box.

Apple once made a 1 MB SRAM card for the Newton, so the Newton probably
supports 1 MB SRAM fine. It may have problems with larger sizes....

This could be "overhead" that the Newton imposes on the card. Also,
some cards have attribute memory while others don't, although the
size of the attribute memory is relatively small...

This is a bug in Magic Cap 1.5. The volume slider controlled the modem
volume in Magic Cap 1.0. Somehow this got broken in 1.5. I reported it to
Motorola during the 1.5 Envoy beta test. The Envoy 1.5 upgrade shipped with
the exact same retrograde problem.

Subject: Coupons

Hello, MagicCap List!

I had few questions . maybe someone can help me.

First ==> What are coupons? What are they used for? There is no
information in the book.
I tried to use "parade" on the Street, it didn't work.

Second ==> Is there a way to get rid of the AT&T building, since it is
useless now?

Third ==> When I post articles to the group, I don't get to see it, it
is not mailed to me?
(unless I put my name in CC:)

Forth ==> Is ther any way to have name card sorted (filed) by First Names
instead of Last names,
(So when I look at the Index for each letter, I
could search by First Names)

Fifth ==> Could I use "pack" feature to have some extra space if I don't
use the package often?
I don't have a memory card yet, and I have Pen Cell on ML 2000.
If I pack it, will it give me more free space?

Ok, I think this is it for now!
Thanks!

I would appreciate any response!
Julia

Subject: Workspace Memory

[This message may have contained graphics created by a Magic Cap device on

What uses Workspace Memory?? I can't seem to free any of mine, and that
appears to be why America Online doesn't work. It downloads a message or
two, then hangs up, or simply goes into cleanup, eventually complaining that
it ran out of memory. Ideas, hints?

Thanks,

Jim

Try this: jot down your info from the AOL building for referance later, and
then reset the package from the storeroom. Then reenter the account info and
connect.
To keep the memory straight in my Envoy, I personalized the device, packed up
ROM packages that I was not going to use, and then made a backup of that. It
is less work to restore from this backup than to run Eternity and reenter all
of the setup info that does not get saved.
