Can anyone recommend what server I should use. I tried CU first. Too = many users, kicked me before I even got a list of groups/topics. Next I tried BYU, I could not even find the server. Next I tried UC Davis, bingo, but could not get any type of response other than one acknowledgement from Luke. Luke, do probably about it, no other messages were received. = Also, Josh, sorry about that fish thing. I was clicking buttons and figured = that would be something like Ping. But since nothing else was being responded to, I just figured that that was not getting received either. =20 > Anyone who will be attempting to establish a connection to IRC for the >first time tomorrow to attend the BAMCUG simulcast may want to start >early, to get the hang of things. One of these days I should learn VB . So I missed the meeting anyway, but I hope this happens next meeting. However, by then, I will be trying this with my Magic Link. Thanks Kevin

Subject: Re: Keyboard and serial cable connection...
In genmagic.list.magiccap you write: >Is there no possible way to have the keyboard and the serial >cable hooked up to the magic link? Am I being blindingly >stupid? Actually, you're not. Which isn't to say that you can easily do this with the products you're talking about. The Magic Bus (labeled Magic Port on the PIC-[12]000) which the keyboard uses to talk to the device is designed to be daisy-chainable. That is, if you had peripherals with up and downstream connectors (and they all implemented the Magic Bus functionality), you could daisy-chain them. Of course, running Magic Xchange allows you to use your PC/Mac keyboard to enter data into the device. -Boris

> Is outfitter's online at all any more? Beats me. I tried to connect to them two weeks ago. While I was able to establish a connection and place an order, my order was constantly rejected because they claimed my credit card didn't have enough credit available. This is odd for two reasons. First of all, I pay my card off every month and there are always thousands of dollars of credit left. Secondly, I was ordering some FREE software -- an updated version of their software. -- Bruce Tong Systems Programmer Electronic Vision / Fitne Work: Phone : (614) 592-2511 Fax : (614) 592-2650 mailto:zztong@evi.ev.net http://www.ev.net/fitne Play: mailto:zztong@eurekanet.com http://www.eurekanet.com/~zztong

Hi all, The fifth BAMCUG meeting last night (10/24) was "simulcasted" on Internet Relay Chat, and the complete transcript of the IRC-cast is now available on the web. I put the transcript and attendee list on my personal web page located at: http://www.spies.com/~josh/bamcug/ The whole thing is about 39 pages long *ack*. Enjoy! -Josh Carter
