Subject: interesting 'doodad'
[This message may have contained graphics created by a Magic Cap device on America Online.] Dear MAGICCAP List and MAGICDST List, I was on the 'Pencomputing' website and found an interesting little thing that you can do with the ML. From the desk, hit the phone icon. Option-tap the keyboard. Type TMBG and rip the coupon and drop on a speed dial slot. That's the number (a NY 718 number) to 'They Might Be Giants' There's 2 other little quirks you can do, including having a 'parade' downtown. At www.pencomputing.com

Subject: MCW without a modem?
Hi all - I'm wondering if it's possible for MCW to connect to a POP server without a modem? I've got an ethernet link to my POP mail server, which other mail progs seem to use happily. But other programs just go looking for an IP network, rather than a modem specifically, and windows95 just seems to point either to 1) the modem or 2) the ethernet. Is it possible to get MCW to use an IP network, rather mthan a modem specifically? That way we could just point MCW at Windows95 DialUp Networking to get it to use a modem connection... Any thoughts? Thx, C. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Ashley charlesa@netventures.co.uk www.netventures.co.uk ======================================================================

If you go to the Network Center building downtown and use the 'Sign Up' form to create a new Internet Provider profile, you can select the last option in the list, 'Network Connection' and fill in the blanks. I believe this will accomplish what you're trying to do. Regards, Luke Derossi for General Magic, Inc.

Subject: Re: Presto! and static IP
Thank you all, after I have found the place where the debug output of Presto! goes to (the notebook), I have played around with my settings and: IT WORKS! As I understand my sysadmin correctly one IP adress is statically bound to my login so Presto! get one, when it asks for! Great. It's slow but it works. Magic!
