Subject: External Modem Tests
Preliminary External 28.8 Modem Throughput Comparison Results Definitions: 1) A custom homemade cable connects from Magic Port to external Cardinal 28.8 modem. 2) Sony Wireless Modem Link (WMLink) software is used to talk with external modem. 3) Baud rate must be set at 19200 as 38400 did not work. 4) AOL will not work at all with WMlink software. 5) External modem cannot be used to send faxes. 6) Some external modems work while others do not. Possibly unexpected result codes are sent back to Magic Link and then WMLink gets confused. 7) All times below timed with graphics receive enabled unless otherwise noted. 8) Netcom is ISP. 9) Tests done in San Diego. 10) I provide the web page addresses in case anyone wants to try duplicating tests with PIC-2000 and it's internal 14.4 modem. Can someone try this please? 11) All tests done with PIC-1000 and 1.0f firmware and used 2 Meg Grid SRAM card. 12) I time download from when receiving from server appears until it disappears and i.e. downloading is complete for that particular web page. 13) Feel free to reproduce this post. Most definitely interested. I used the last version and still do and am an avid Magic Link user. You say it's C++ 4.0 compatible... does this mean C++ is required? thanks for your help, Matt On Fri, 30 Aug 1996, MCW Online wrote: > Posted on behlaf of Magic Cap Tools: > > As promised we have released the newest Beta version of Magic Developer for > Windows.
