Subject: Question to Sony/GenMagic
Hey, I was looking in the new Popular Science reading in the what's new section... And what did I see but a color touchscreen pen-based new Zaurus ( I think..) ...I want a color magic cap device... hell yeah, that'd be the bomb.

That Zaurus you saw is the device that Sharp has been selling in Japan for a couple of years, albeit without the color screen. The only think that the US version of the device has in common with the Japanese version reportedly is the name, having no keyboard and featuring built in handwriting recognition. The Japanese Z-7000 took that market by storm, and now it is offerred with a color screen and avideo camera. Had Sharp marketed that device here from the beginning, the PDA market might be very different right now. They might not sell that Zaurus here.

Subject: Freestyle xfer solved
Magic: Just wanted to pass along the answer to a question I sent out awhile back on Freestyle and data tranfer using magic exchange for windows... To move data between freestyle and windows you need magic exchange version 1.1. Once I upgraded everything is working. Thanks go to Software Partners tech support. They were a little slow responding but did get me working. Ps: Intellelink order lines will tell you 1.1 does not work with freestyle, but it does... Subject: the coupon
I'll assume the coupon offer was well intended. But it does leave a bad taste. I bought my copy of PrestoMail the other day. Had to. Good thing too. Spend a day going through the maze of finding an ISP. It was very fustrating at times. Don't ever make the mistake of saying "Magic Cap" to anyone and then expect them to take you seriously. Before yesterday I didn't know a POP from a PPP from a password from a login. That was one reason I bought my Magic Link many moons ago. I thought I wasn't going to have too. The point is, it (PrestoMail) needs a little learning time. It looks at this point the free copies will not arrive till after PLS is closed. All in all I am pleased with the package. It works. I do miss the telescript ATTPLS rules greatly. I still have the problem of getting the rest of our links online. I used ATT WorldNET for my Envoy and it worked fine. The rest of our units will just be used to send and retrieve e-mail a couple of hours (max) per month. I really don't want to pay NetCom $20 for that. Are there any choices. Also, I don't want to have to sign up from PC, just want them to give me an account. A provider that will allow different e-mail names under one account would be ideal. Anyone have any recommendations. I'm off to the Diner. Paul McHugh
