Subject: PrestoMail reply-to addresses

Hi all -

I'm just trying to figure out how to get PrestoMail 1.5 to set my =
reply-to address correctly. To be specific, I want mail to go to =
charlesa@netventures.co.uk, not my dialup provider =
charlesa@someISP.com . Is there a way to do this? I've got my =
personal namecard with an Internet email of =
charlesa@netventures.co.uk, but all messages seem to go out as =
charlesa@someISP.com.

Anyone else run into this?

Thx,

C.=

Dear MAGICCAP@BROWNVM.BROWN.EDU,

----- Attached Item -----

Dear MUL-AOL and Sony Electronics Inc. and three others,

Could someone forward this to the MagicCap list and/or offer suggestions,
please? I've lost their address temporarily.

I have a 1.2 Meg package on my 2 meg RAM card. It appears that MagicCap
attempts to copy packages when unpacking them, as it complains that I don't
have room. Even when this is the only thing on my card, AND I have 1 Meg
free in system memory. Is there a way to unpack this package? Or simply
copy items out of it? It has everything I've done since getting my SRAM
Card.

Desperate Thanks,

Jim

Dear Magic,
So does the stupid $150 coupon from att include the price of sram for
the people who have a pic 1000? I really doubt that presto mail will
fit on my link without it. Any info on what the presto package will do

Dear Magic,
I have noticed that every so often when typing, the cursor jumps
to another place in the document. To me it seems random, but I have
been writing programs too long to expect that it is. The problem
mainly happens when I get tapping or typing real fast. It happens both
with the on screen and attachable keyboards. Has anyone else
experienced this phenomenon?

Kevin,

Jim Ofter, CEO of Farcast, recommended USA.NET to Farcast subscribers
looking for a new ISP after the PersonaLink announcement particularly to
address the issue of keeping a consistent e-mail address.

Dear Farcast PersonaLink Subscriber,

We don't normally do this, but we are getting quite a few questions about
options for E-mail since AT&T just announced the discontinuation of
PersonalLink. The AT&T PersonalLink announcement gave you several
options for software and services, all of which work great with Farcast.

However, any transition to a new e-mail address introduces unwanted
chaos. There is a "one e-mail address for life" company that you might want to
consider to help make this transition less painful and disruptive --
USA.NET.

I have included some text from their Web page below.

Regards,

Jim Opfer

Farcast, Inc.

**************************************************************************

Why would you want a permanent e-mail address?

Because throughout your life, you'll move, change jobs, and perhaps
switch internet service providers. Usually, any one of these changes
would mean getting a new e-mail address. Which means tracking down and
notifying everyone who has the old one. Which is an incredible hassle.

But your USA.NET ADDRESS(SM) will always stay the same. Wherever you
live. Wherever you work. Wherever you travel. And whatever internet
service provider - or providers - you choose.

Contact us today and get a free trial of USA.NET ADDRESS for 90 days.
And go ahead. Print it with confidence on your letterhead. Your
    business cards. Or whatever.

I have and use both. If you are 'communications concentric' I recommend
the ML. It handles internet email and limited surfing today. If you are
PIM oriented I like the 130. Both require extra softwzre to do the
things I want.

I've noticed sometimes my little finger accidently touches the lower
right hand corner of the screen when I tap. This tends to mess things
up. Perhaps you're doing something similar.

Are you using the auxiliary keyboard? I have noticed that because of the
placement and small size of the '"return" key I sometimes hit an arrow
key instead, usually moving the curser down or up one line. Other than
that I have not noticed inexplicable curser movements.

CERFNET offers 800# support with local access numbers in NY, CA & IL. They

For mere money I believe there is a new RadioMail service called RadioWeb
which will do what you want. I haven't tried it but it may only return the
text of the web pages. PrestoLink actually returns the images as well as
text and will maintain the HTML formatting. My understanding of the
solutions is that PrestoLinks won't run over RadioMail/Ardis.

Us PIC1000 owners are in the position of needing an SRAM card if we
want to run Presto!Mail 1.5 and !Links. Even good old Presto!Mail1.0
takes up 160k on my card.(You should invest in a card anyway as the
PIC1000 is not truly useful without one, and is a low-memory cripple if
you store anything at all in it)
Envoy owners are in somewhat better shape as their machines have
upgradable flash rom. Care to guess what service could be deleted on
the next Envoy update, and what software could be installed, if
Motorola cares to do so? (and I think they care quite a bit about their
customers- feedback and clamor on the part of those who have sunk big
bucks in Envoys could pursuade Motorola to upgrade them to Presto!Mail
in rom in place of PLink, if anyone cares that is!)
